Next door to Olivine, the Monteleone family has
been making cheese by hand at the Donnybrook
Cheese Farm, much the same way it was made
a hundred years ago. In fact, they milk their own
cows, so only the best and freshest milk are used
in their products.

The family had been making cheese in the hills
of Sicily for generations when young Bernardo
Monteleone migrated to Australia in 1968.
He continues the tradition at his 160-hectare
organic dairy farm. Visitors to the farm enjoy free
tasting of more than 20 different cheeses. The
Monteleone Restaurant on site serves the family’s
favourite recipes, open from Thursday to Sunday.
